The heritage building was accorded Grade III listed building status by AMO. The ‘preservation-cum-development’ scheme approved by the MPC involves the preservation of the main historic house whilst designing the location of the main components of the new residential development so as to minimise any adverse impact on the historic structure, its setting and the local landscape and visual amenity. SCENIC’s design is a contemporary landscape, in association with the development of a residential tower, which incorporates preserved elements of the historical garden whilst making new design interventions apparent in broad accordance with the Venice Charter. The landscape design forms a series of outdoor rooms each with a distinctive and memorable character following an almost cinematic progression.
